FRANKFURT AM MAIN, GERMANY - Hoechst AG of Frankfurt am Main recently announced several personnel changes. Reinhard Traub was named head of the Polyolefins Strategic Business Unit in Hoechst's Plastics and Films Division. He had been managing director of Hoechst South Africa Ltd. The unit consists of the formerly separate polypropylene and polyethylene units.
Joachim Eckstein, previously head of the rigid films business unit, will be responsible for ecology and product safety in the Plastics Division management committee.
Eckstein, who is president of the European Plastics Converters Association, will focus on coordinating the group's interests, Hoechst said.
Norbert Gunderlach, who was chief executive officer of Vinnolit Kunststoff GmbH in Ismaning, Germany, was named CEO of Hoechst unit Kalle Hartfolien GmbH. He is succeeded by Franz Wrede.
Also, Hoechst Trespaphan GmbH, the new oriented polypropylene films joint venture between Hoechst and Courtaulds plc, began operating Jan. 1 in Neunkirchen, Germany. Andreas Grein was named CEO and Rudolf Michel was named commercial affairs director. David Espley was named technical affairs director.
