RJG Associates Inc. and RJG Technologies Inc. of Traverse City, Mich., recently moved into a new, 10,000-square-foot, built-to-suit facility, with space for future expansion. RJG Associates offers training and consulting services, as well as project development and pro-duction.
RJG Technologies is a manufacturer of products for the plastic injection molding industry, including computer aided monitoring and process control devices, and a proprietary software program called Dartnet.
Karol Vanderhoff, business coordinator for RJG Associates, said the building includes new and expanded production and laboratory facilities.
A new niche for the company, said Vanderhoff, is that of new mold tryouts, including instrumented capability studies for automated systematic process control, and machine-independent tryouts at clients' plants.
``We have a proprietary method for rigorous, instrumented mold tryouts,'' said Vanderhoff. ``This new facility really lets us help our clients determine the viability of a mold before it goes into production, and we teach classes in and emphasize the critical importance of that [process] in all our training.''
The company also offers pro-duction molding of ultra-critical, small components, for both plastic and powdered metal molding for clients.
It also provides developmental services for clients in both metal and plastic components.
Currently, RJG operates six injection molding presses with clamping forces of 15-75 tons. The company plans to add at least one larger molding machine within the next 90 days.
RJG Associates offers both public seminars held at various locations throughout the United States, and in-plant seminars at clients' facilities.
Courses cover basic injection molding, injection molding hydraulics, systematic injection molding and process control with lab sessions, and instrumentation and Dartnet for automated SPC.
