A corporate restructuring has put a new executive in charge of Huntsman Corp.'s polystyrene and expanded polystyrene businesses. David Huntsman was namedvice president for PS and expanded PS. He assumes positions for-merly held by Mark Bru-ner, previously vice president for PS, and Rich-
ard Urbanski, previously vice president for EPS. Bruner and Urbanski are no longer with the company.
Huntsman's styrenic polymers operations are based in Chesapeake, Va.
Tom Wood remains VP for Huntsman's polypropylene operations, which are based in Woodbury, N.J.
Huntsman of Salt Lake City announced Jan. 26 it consolidated its four operating units - Huntsman Chemical Corp., Huntsman Packaging Corp., Huntsman Specialty Chemicals Corp. and Huntsman Corp. - under one management company known as Huntsman Corp. The restructuring took effect Feb. 1.
Huntsman cut the number of its corporate officers from 55 to 23 in the restructuring.
Peter R. Huntsman, 32, was named president and chief operating officer, and Richard P. Durham, 31, became president and chief financial officer of Huntsman Corp.
Jon M. Huntsman remains chairman and chief executive officer of the corporation.
Don Olsen, company spokesman, said Huntsman's polymer operations were most affected by the restructuring, primarily because those operations were not affected by previous corporate realignments.
Olsen said fewer than 60 persons were let go throughout the corporation as a result of staff reductions precipitated by the restructuring.
The layoffs were a result of eliminating duplicate positions after the four operating units were combined, according to Olsen.
