PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh-based Conair Group Inc. has introduced several new products produced by two divisions, Conair Franklin in Franklin, Pa., and Conair Martin in Agawam, Mass., in a business deal involving Conair Jetro of Bay City, Mich. Conair Martin introduced a CD series of granulators for granulating heavy, bulky parts at rates of 4,500-10,000 pounds an hour. The machines boast the slanted knife, scissor-cutting action of adjustable rotor knives. Because the knives are adjustable, knife clearance with the screen remains constant, eliminating clogging, minimizing heat buildup and reducing fines.
Conair Martin also introduced its CKB series of soundproof granulators for belt conveyor feeding for blow molded parts.
All models include a pneumatic evacuation system and a belt conveyor sized to the specific cutting-changer width of the model, the company said. Chamber sizes range from 7 inches by 9 inches to 24 by 36 inches.
Conair Martin/Wortex also announced it now makes an HD-series granulator with an open-style rotor for reduction of large-size scrap.
Granulating capacity on the HD-2028 is 1,800 pounds an hour. The hopper opening measures 17 inches by 20 inches.
Conair Franklin introduced the self-contained Z Loaders, for either hopper loading or direct-feed mounting, which it said are ideal for small machine conveyors where fast material changes must be made. Changeovers are possible with no tools.
The company also announced that Conair Jetro has become the exclusive North American sales and service organization for the AutoScreen polymer filtration products made by London-based Process Developments Ltd. Ac-cording to Conair, more than 2,000 AutoScreen units have been installed in North America during the past 20 years.
AutoScreen is a continuous-flow filter designed for extended, uninterrupted processes such as extrusion of film, sheet, tape, strapping, pipe and profile.
