LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y.-Shin-ichiro Nagashima has retired as chairman and chief executive officer of captive molder Canon Virginia Inc., and as executive vice president of Canon U.S.A. Inc. in Lake Success. Nagashima had been with the parent company since 1966. In 1986, he became the first president of Canon Virginia, Canon's largest manufacturing facility in North America. He also was chairman and president of SouthTech Inc. of Tappahannock, Va., which performs injection molding and subassembly operations for Canon Virginia, according to a recent news release issued by Canon.
Nagashima now serves as an executive adviser, chairman emeritus and community liaison for Canon Virginia, and an adviser for Canon Inc.
Haruo Murase, president and CEO of Canon U.S.A., assumes the additional roles of chairman and CEO of Newport News-based Canon Virginia, and chairman of SouthTech.
Michiaki Matsuo was named SouthTech president. Matsuo also remains president and chief operating officer of Canon Virginia.
