DETROIT - Guardian Industries Corp. announced a name change for its Windsor Plastics Inc. subsidiary in the wake of the recent acquisition of Automotive Moulding Co. Guardian, based in Auburn Hills, Mich., said it is dropping the Windsor name from the business, which now will be known as Guardian Auto-motive Trim Inc.
Automotive Moulding will retain its name for the present but will be identified as a subsidiary of Guardian Auto-motive Trim.
Guardian, a major producer of glass for the automotive and construction industries, acquired 70 percent of Auto-motive Moulding in January. The acquisition marked a major expansion of Guardian into the automotive plastics and trim business.
