ANAHEIM, CALIF. - Coast Wire and Plastic Technology Inc. will start moving in June to a new, 60,000-square-foot facility at an undisclosed location that will triple its current Gardena, Calif., operation's size. The current facility is running 24 hours a day and six days a week, Vice President Terry McInnes said in an interview at the Medical Design & Manufacturing West show.
About one-third of Coast's business is in the medical elec-tronics business. McInnes said he expects the company to register total sales of between $4.3 million and $5 million in 1996.
With four current extruder lines, the move will add two new lines to handle PVC, thermoplastic elastomers, foam polyurethane and some polypropylene, he said.
The move and expansion is not connected with another Latshaw Enterprises plastics molding facility, Wescon Products Co., in Wichita, Kan., he noted.
Coast was purchased by Latshaw, a $40 million molder whose customers include Mary Kay Cosmetics and Toro Co., in December 1993.
