DALLAS - Longwood Products Inc., a Houston recycler specializing in shipping post-industrial plastics between the United States and Central and South America, has opened a 27,000-square-foot warehouse and laboratory in Houston. The facility is Longwood's fourth. Three are in Houston. Longwood also runs a warehouse in Mexico City. Through a joint venture, the firm maintains an office in Caracas, Venezuela, and a distribution center in Santiago, Chile, according to Robert Lang, vice president.
Lang and his father, Howard Lang, own Longwood Products.
The company exhibited at Plastics Fair Dallas, Feb. 13-15.
``Our main focus is Texas-Mexico,'' Robert Lang said.
The company washes and grinds the material, pulling out metal and other contaminants. The plastic is baled.
The new Houston facility opened in November. Lang said a blown film line in the lab will make test bags from recycled plastics.
Longwood Products will exhibit at PlastImagen '96, scheduled for March 12-15 in Mexico City.
The company recently hired Greg Berretta as vice president.
