KALAMAZOO, MICH. - Total Plas-tics Inc., a Kalamazoo distributor, has purchased Pontiac Plastics & Supply, an Auburn Hills, Mich., distributor and manufacturer. Total, a unit of A.M. Castle & Co., is one of the largest specialty metals distributors in the United States.
It distributes and makes plastic sheet and tube, store fixtures, display materials, automotive components, and does bending, gluing, cutting and routing.
Deborah Davis, investor relations adviser for A.M. Castle, said Pontiac's products and services were similar to Total's.
Castle bought Total Castle in January as part of the parent firm's plans to become a major industrial materials distributor.
No purchase price for Pontiac was disclosed.
Total, with about $25 million in annual sales, operates plants in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, Mich.; Elk Grove Village, Ill.; and Fort Wayne, Ind. Pontiac has one location in Auburn Hills.
