RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIF. - Custom injection molder Pa-cific Plastic Technology recently expanded its capabilities with the addition of two new presses -a Toyo with 500 tons of clamping force and a 950-ton model from Toshiba Machine Co. America. Another Toshiba molding press, with 610 tons of clamping force, is scheduled for installation this month. The firm now operates 12 presses with clamping forces of 28-950 tons in a 26,000-square-foot, facility in Rancho Cucamonga.
To accommodate the larger presses, PPT is adding a 10-ton overhead crane system, a new water-chilling system and two 40,000-pound resin silos.
Pete Henderson, director of sales and marketing, said the 22-year-old firm is replacing all its older molding equipment with state-of-the-art machinery.
In addition to molding, PPT offers contract manufacturing services including secondary operations such as sonic welding, hot stamping, flame treating, silk screening and assembly. PPT also assists customers with new product and mold design, and serves the medical, electronics, military and commercial battery and industrial container industries.
PPT's quality assurance program conforms to military specifications MIL-Q-9858 and MIL-I-45208A.
