BURLINGAME, CALIF. - XXsys Technologies Inc. of San Diego took delivery March 8 of its second-generation Robo-Wrap-per and expects to emphasize the machine's capabilities in bids soon for California Trans-portation Department seismic retrofit contracts. California Graphite Ma-chines Inc. of Corona, Calif., built the automatic carbon fiber column-wrapping ma-chine. Andrew Lampe, recently named director of marketing and sales, showed photos of the machine at the Wilson Forum in Burlingame.
Compared with an older model, Robo-Wrapper II can wrap a column every two hours, vs. seven hours, and can handle columns with a diameter of 7 feet, vs. 4 feet.
