MEMPHIS, TENN. - Snack bag maker Bryce Packaging Co. is expanding an Arkansas plant to handle the production from a new facility being built by Frito-Lay Inc. in Jonesboro, Ark. Bryce's Searcy plant will be expanded to provide packaging to the 400,000-square-foot Frito-Lay facility, on which construction began March 1, according to published reports.
Bryce officials could not be reached for comment on the expansion, which reportedly will add about 25-40 jobs at the 300-employee plant.
Memphis-based Bryce makes snack wrappers and bags for a range of Frito-Lay products, and has more than 40 plants nationwide.
Frito-Lay said it has not decided what products will be produced at its new plant, which was placed in Jonesboro to improve product distribution in the Mid-South region.
