Cryovac Division of W.R. Grace & Co. of Duncan, S.C., has introduced a PVC film for medical solution packaging. The M312 multilayered, coextruded film is produced in a controlled environment, using filtered air to reduce particulate levels. It also offers film gauge reductions of as much as 60 percent, while featuring superior clarity and toughness. Appli-cations include parenteral drugs, dialysis solutions and a variety of non-sterilized products.
The company also has developed TBG-brand bags for vacuum-packaged meat ribs. The bags feature consumer portioning and high-moisture and oxygen barriers, along with increased toughness to resist bone puncture, enabling the ribs to be taken directly from the shipping case to the store meat case.

Freelin-Wade tubing resists weld spatter
Freelin-Wade Co. of McMinn-ville, Ore., has unveiled a blue ether-based polyurethane weld spatter resistant inner tubing for water and air lines on automatic or spot welders, machine tools and pneumatic plumbing systems. The tubing - available in half a dozen inch and metric sizes - is extremely flexible and covered with a black, non-adhering flame retardant cover with excellent tear and tensile strength, according to the firm.

RBC system offers strength, stiffness
Roller Bearing Co. of America in West Trenton, N.J., offers a self-lubricated spherical plain bearing with a Fibriloid liner system that is a polytetrafluoroethylene fabric composed of a special weave of Teflon and DuPont's Nomex fibers bonded by a proprietary blend of phenolic resins.
The result is a product with low wear rates at high loads, excellent high-temperature performance and improved resistance to a variety of fluids, according to RBC.

LNP composite sinks like a lead weight
LNP Engineering Plastics of Exton, Pa., has a heavy composites line designed to replace metals such as lead in many commercial and industrial applications.
The Thermocomp High Specific Gravity line has a specific gravity of 10, which places the composite on a one-to-one basis with lead, according to LNP. The line is being used as a lead replacement in fishing lures and sinkers.
