Fabricated Extrusion Co. will open a plant in Louisville, Ky., May 1. The 36,000-square-foot plant will have four extrusion machines that make custom thermoplastic sheet and profiles. It also will do its own compounding. Fabricated Extrusion of Kentucky could hire up to 50 workers, said Jeff Aichele, president of Fabricated Extrusion Co. of Modesto, Calif.
Fabricated Extrusion Co. of Kentucky will be a separate company and will be privately owned by Richard Fesenmyer, the same man who owns the California Fabricated Extrusion Co.
Louisville was chosen for its lo-cation and incentive package.
``We have customers in the East and in the Midwest, but none in Kentucky,'' said Aichele. ``It's the geographic center of our existing customer base.''
Louisville offered Fabricated Extrusion Co. a complete package, Aichele added. Some of the incentives include sales tax rebates, state income tax rebates and the offer to pay part of employees' wages.
Fabricated Extrusion will make any extruded product and specializes in custom plastics manufacturing for original equipment manufacturers.
