NEW BERLIN, WIS. - New Berlin is home to a new injection molding company - Advanced Molding Technology Inc. (AMTech). ``This is a fantastic industry to be in,'' said Lin Clousing, marketing director.
The sales of the company's proprietary item, non-metallic shoe caps, had been doing well. So instead of continuing to have someone else injection mold the product, AMTech decided to invest $500,000 to open its own injection molding company and make the product itself, Clousing said.
AMTech become incorporated at the end of 1995 and the machines began processing the end of January.
Although AMTech plans to build its own facility, it has signed a lease for two years. The company has three employees and three injection molding machines.
The new Cincinnati Milacron machines are designed to run all engineered thermoplastics, especially long fiber structural plastics, Clousing said. AMTech is looking for an additional, higher tonnage ma-chine.
Besides making shoe caps, the company does overflow work and sampling for tool makers.
