NILES, OHIO - Dinesol Plastics Inc. of Niles will have a 75,000-square-foot expansion completed by mid-April. The $2.5 million expansion will increase the square footage of the plant to 125,000 square feet, from 50,000. Nine injection molding machines will be added to the current 28 and new employees will be hired.
The expansion was done so all production could be under one roof, leaving room for future machinery additions. As a result, Dinesol's West Farmington, Ohio, plant will be shut down and brought in-house within 45 days.
``In the future, our five-year plan is to add larger-size presses - up to 3,000 tons,'' said spokes-man Carey Goetz.
The expansion has all new support equipment: water system, electrical system, a materials-handling system and a substation power supply. According to Goetz, the new systems were necessary for future equipment.
Dinesol custom injection molds parts for Rubbermaid Inc.'s Housewares Division and the hardware, automotive, appliance and medical industries.
C-Plastics planning June ground breaking
LEOMINSTER, MASS. - C-Plastics Corp. of Leominster plans to break ground in June for a 21,000-square-foot addition to its 60,000-square-foot plant.
The $1.5 million expansion will help the company accommodate increased customer demand as well as add customers, said Executive Vice President Charles Goldman. The addition will be completed by October, he said.
C-Plastics, a custom injection molder, will add four machines and 25 employees.
The company manufactures components from engineered resins, polycarbonate and acrylic for the automotive industry and other consumer products markets. Parts include interior trim and instrument clusters.
