BAYPORT, TEXAS - Huntsman Corp. announced plans to expand its styrene monomer production plant in Bayport by 250 million pounds. This second phase of a modernization project at the Bayport plant is scheduled for completion by April 1997. It will bring the plant's annual capacity to 1.5 billion pounds. The Salt Lake City-based firm completed the first phase in 1995.
Huntsman will have 2.65 billion pounds of production capacity by 1998. This includes the Bayport expansion, the Deltech Corp. acquisition and expansion announced in February, and its plant production in Australia.

The Blackbrook Chemical Ltd. product is designed to replace volatile solvents used in the semiconductor industry as well as a liquid thermoplastic purging compound for injection and extrusion equipment. Hamilton Avtec Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario, expanded its manufacturing capacity to in-clude a division that will specialize in producing high-volume commodity products such as vacuum pumps and loaders, controls, volumetric feeders and blenders.
