HAYWARD, CALIF. - Plastikon Industries Inc. will have a new injection molding plant in De-cember. The new, 40,000-square-foot plant in Hayward will house 26 presses. The current 24,000-square-foot facility will be used for toolmaking. Plastikon has 145 employees.
Expanding business in the automotive and biomedical in-dustries persuaded Plastikon to plan the new building. The company's sales last year were $12.4 million.
Injex Industries Inc., Plastikon's sister company, will add a 2,200-ton injection press in mid-1997 to accommodate new electric and computer business.
Injex, also in Hayward, has 130 employees and 27 injection presses. The company's injection molding sales last year were $14 million.

Pent Plastics moving 6 presses to Iowa
AVILLA, IND. - Pent Plastics Inc. is undergoing extensive reorganization.
Pent of Avilla will move six injection molding machines out of the plant in Elkmont, Ga., owned by its sister company, Pent Products, within two months. They will be moved to a new Pent facility in Afton, Iowa.
In addition, one injection press will be added to Avilla Plant No. 2, with at least two more on the way.
The company is moving the equipment from Georgia to Iowa because one of its major customers is in Iowa.
``It was too far down there,'' Avilla plant manager Gary Knight said.
The 22,000-square-foot Afton facility will have 20 employees.
Pent Plastics has 115 employees and had sales of $9.6 million last year.
The company serves the office furniture, automotive and appliance industries with parts made from many materials such as ABS, PVC, polystyrene, polypropylene and high-temperature thermoplastics.
