DETROIT-Williams Controls Inc., a maker of sensors and controls, said April 24 it has acquired the assets of molder Neumann En-gineering and Manufacturing Inc. of Detroit for undisclosed terms. Williams of Portland, Ore., will rename the business Premier Plastic Technologies Inc. and continue to mold a variety of parts, specializing in taillight lenses, for the Big Three and major auto suppliers. The newly acquired business had sales of $6 million last year. Premier's 38,000-square-foot plant in Detroit, with 14 injection presses, also will mold parts for publicly held Williams, which plans to reduce its use of outside suppliers. Williams said the De-troit facility will help it expand sales of its electronic throttle control devices to the auto industry.
