BEACHWOOD, OHIO - Fix-Corp., a Beachwood financial factoring company, has purchased 3DM LLC of Heath, Ohio, which recently bought the former plastics recycling operation of Quantum Chemical Co. Mark Fixler, chairman and chief executive officer of Fix-Corp., said 3DM will become a subsidiary of the holding company, and will continue to make recycled high density polyethylene resin at the 50,000-square-foot Heath facility.
Fixler added that the company has ordered equipment to install two new injection molding lines to make plastic pallets at the plant, and that plans are to install a third line for pallets in about 18 months. There are currently two injection molding lines in operation, which will also be used to make pallets.
``When the pallet equipment is installed, we may begin to phase out the pellets sales,'' Fixler said. ``But for the immediate future, we will be selling the recycled polymers that have been made here since Quantum started the facility.''
