STANLEY, N.C. - Hemscheidt Machine Corp. has opened a parts and service center in Stanley, near Charlotte, to serve customers in the southeastern United States. It appointed Timothy Teal operations director. Hemscheidt's main North American sales office and service center is in Wixom, Mich. The firm specializes in space-saving injection molding presses with clamping forces of 50-6,000 tons. It supplies tiebarless and retractable-tiebar presses made by its parent, Hemscheidt Maschinentechnik Schwerin GmbH & Co. of Schwerin, Germany.
Engel Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH recently dropped a patent suit with Hemscheidt after the latter firm redesigned its tiebarless machine.
