TURIN, ITALY - Web surfers interested in plastics machinery - or the weather in Italy - can dial in to the Sandretto Metalmeccanica SpA site on the World Wide Web at http:www.agora.stm.it/sandretto. Visitors click on one of six languages (English, Italian, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese).
The site has the usual product information, but Sandretto has added some extras, including a ``virtual'' walk-through tour of its Museum of Plastics.
Officials of the Turin-based company originally created the Web site to promote the museum, which opened at the Sandretto factory in 1995 in Pont Canavese, near Turin.
Visitors click on a map that describes each of seven rooms, then enter each room to view artifacts, which appear in color pictures with a short description.Clicking on key words brings up more details.Other parts of the site include a history of Pont Canavese, and even the weather forecast.
Sandretto Plastics Machinery Inc. is in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
