MIDLAND, MICH. - Dow Plastics said June 26 it is halving its 4-cent polystyrene increase announced June 1. Dow will increase prices 2 cents per pound for general-purpose and high-impact PS, styrenic alloy and advanced styrenic resins, retroactive to June 1. In April, PS prices rose 2 cents, after suppliers tried for a 4-cent hike. Midland-based Dow tried to raise PS prices in mid-May, but delayed the move until June 1.
