INDIANAPOLIS - Compression Inc. announced the addition of three SLA rapid prototyping systems from 3D Systems Inc. in Valencia, Calif. Compression now has 15 rapid prototyping systems using four technologies. All three SLA units use the stereolithography process to turn computerized design files into plastic, three-dimensional models and prototypes.
Compression Inc., based in Indianapolis, is an integrated product design, development and manufacturing company incorporating PRO/Engineer software, high-speed workstations, computer numerically controlled machining centers and 15 injection molding presses for tooling tryouts.
Darrell Pufahl, one of Compression's founders, said the company's growth is largely the result of ``increasing demand for speed-to-market services and an increase in the outsourcing of product development services.''
Since its beginning in early 1993, Compression Inc. has grown to six product development centers throughout the United States, employing more than 240.
