ELK GROVE VILLAGE, ILL.-House-wares molder Arrow Plastic Man-ufacturing Co. of Elk Grove Village has bought its fifth Krauss-Maffei injection press in two years. Arrow President Robert Kleck-auskas said the molder bought the 110-ton press out of Krauss-Maffei's booth at Plastics Fair Chicago, held June 11-13. He said Arrow has been moving to Krauss-Maffei presses in recent years. That mirrors Krauss-Maffei's strategy to sell machines to a broader customer base.
It's a high-precision machine and it was never viewed as a machine that would be used as general-purpose, but with the competitive environment out there, we're forced to move into this equipment,'' he said.
Krauss-Maffei is based in Florence, Ky.
