CULVER CITY, CALIF. - Culver City Composites Corp. and Advanced Polymer Sciences Inc. have form-ed a venture, Siloxirane Com-posites Inc., to make prepreg and chop-molded-composite materials for infrastructure, high-temperature-aerospace and toxic-fluid-transport applications. The venture uses proprietary formulations of the multifunctional thermoset polymer Siloxirane for products that can survive elevated temperatures and resist corrosion. Donald Keehan, a founder of Advanced Polymer of Cleveland, invented and patented the organic/inorganic hybrid chemistry. Advanced Polymer sells resin to the venture, and Culver City Composites, an American Materials & Technolo-gies Corp. unit, prepregs material at its Culver City plant for it. The firms announced the venture Sept. 17. Keehan is chairman, and American Materials' executive Paul Pendorf is president.
