CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The National Association for Plastic Container Recovery's new campaign is urging people to ``be in with the bin crowd.'' NAPCOR's television and radio commercials use humorous les-sons to encourage recycling of PET bottles.
The lessons are designed to show that community involvement can be an incentive for recycling.
``The `bin crowd' concept highlights the community spirit in recycling,'' said President Luke B. Schmidt. ``In focus group tests, we found that most people have a basic appreciation for recycling.''
NAPCOR, based in Charlotte, is a trade association whose members include PET bottle makers and resin suppliers.
