Prices for all grades of high density polyethylene resins have increased 15 cents per pound since March. The Sept. 23 issue incorrectly reported that prices for certain grades of HDPE rose by only 10 cents per pound. Producers raised HDPE prices 3 cents per pound April 1, 3 cents per pound May 1, 4 cents per pound June 1, and 5 cents per pound Aug. 1. Separate, 5-cent-per-pound price increases are pending for HDPE and low and linear low density PE.
Fibreboard Corp. announced Sept. 26 that its new vinyl siding plant planned for Joplin, Mo., will have initial production capacity of 120 million square feet per year, rather than the 126 million square feet suggested in a Page 1 story Sept. 30.
