WASHINGTON - The American Plastics Council of Washington claims that 87 percent of Americans have reused a plastic product in the past six months. As a result, it has created a contest involving reused plastic items. The National Plastics Reuse it Contest entry with the 10 most-creative and practical reuses of one plastic item will win a free trip to France to stay in a former castle now reused as an inn.
Entries will be judged on ingenuity and practicality by judges representing industry, the Envi-ronmental Protection Agency, Keep America Beautiful Inc. and consumers. The contest runs through Feb. 14.
