Creative Plastics Inc., a rotational molding firm, has opened its doors in downtown Baltimore. The firm started in June in a renovated building on the harbor. The 25,000-square-foot plant houses one rotational molding machine that makes parts for the marine, lawn and garden, recreational, agriculture and automotive industries. The firm also molds parts for photographic processing equipment and video terminals and displays. The parts are made from polyethylene.
The firm is seeking high-profile customers and plans to establish long-term relationships.
``I helped build up two other companies and I figured I could do it for myself,'' said President Bruce Schrider.
Schrider worked for what is now Sherwood Plastics Inc. of Fostoria, Ohio, and Trilogy Plastics Inc. of Louisville, Ohio. The firm has eight employees and is running two shifts. By the end of the year, Schrider expects to be at three shifts. Another rotational molding machine will be added by the end of January.
