MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Amex Packaging Ltd. has moved its blow molding operations to a 50,000-square-foot plant. The Mooresville company moved from its leased, 40,000-square-foot plant in March. No new machines or employees were added in the move to the $1.3 million building.
``Our other building was not laid out well for blow molding and our lease was running out,'' said Marshall Henderson, president. ``We added nice features for efficiency, laid out the floor for expansion and enclosed the manufacturing room and dehumidified it.''
Amex has 65 employees and seven blow molding machines. The company makes products for the food, motor oil, medical, household and agricultural chemical, personal-care, toy and lawn and garden markets. Amex reported sales of $5 million last year.
