STREAMWOOD, ILL. - Tri-Par Die & Mold Corp., a Streamwood-based injection molder, is relocating its molding operations to a rented 13,000-square-foot facility. The company, which started as a high-precision tooling firm in the 1960s, expanded into injection molding in 1995.
The company's injection facility in Geneva, Ill., will be operational in January.
Tri-Par is investing about $500,000 in equipment. A 175-ton press also will be added to the existing two in January and possibly two more will be added later next year.
The 8,100-square-foot Streamwood plant will be used only for tooling.
Tri-Par has about 30 employees and serves the computer, automotive, consumer and lighting industries.
The firm reported total sales of $2.6 million and injection molding sales of $200,000 last year.
