TORONTO - Noma Industries Ltd. opened a new manufacturing facility on Nov. 4 in Valcourt, Quebec, to supply wire harnesses to Bombardier Inc.'s Sea-Doo/Ski-Doo division, also located in Valcourt. Noma of Toronto established the 50,000-square-foot facility to provide just-in-time delivery to Bombardier. It also will use the operation to expand wire harness sales to automotive, appliance and electronics firms in Quebec, said Tom Beck, Noma chairman and chief executive officer.
The firm said it eventually will invest C$3 million (US$2.2 mil- lion) in the Valcourt plant. Employment started at 26 but is expected to reach 350 when Noma runs the plant at full capacity.
Its facility is the first manufacturing operation in the Valcourt Industrial Park, about 50 miles east of Montreal.
