WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA. - ASTM has formed a task group to address the D-3350 specification for polyethylene pipe and fittings materials, and the standards association needs data on cross-linked PE. The specification is being handled by Section D20.12.01 on Ethylene Plastics, which is part of ASTM's Committee D-20 on Plastics.
Currently, the specification does not include any data related to finished properties of cross-linked PE materials for pipe and fittings.
A work group has been formed to address the issue, which will be discussed at the ASTM November Committee Week, Nov. 18-21 in New Orleans.
