Ciba Polymers has added a three-part, low-viscosity system to its lineup for structural composites. Araldite LY1555US is a solvent-free laminating resin based on bisphenol A epoxy. It uses hardener HY 917 and accelerator DY 070 for anhydride curing.
Ciba targets the system for automated filament winding and pultrusion applications such as pipes and recreational parts. The Hawthorne, N.Y., firm claims the system offers good fiber impregnation and easy processing.

The packages are made with a glycol-modified PET supplied by Eastman Chemical Co. of Kings-port, Tenn. Eastman said Plasto-film is producing extruded sheet from its PETG resins and thermoforming the sheet.
The catheter packaging in-cludes a design that permits health-care employees to read a brochure - before opening the package. The brochure describes uses for the sterile catheter inside the package.
The tamper-evident lancet package allows users to see the device and tip while keeping both secure and sterile.
