CHICAGO—Thermoformer Andex Industries Inc. has expanded its two plants, both in Escanaba, Mich., giving the firm a total of 130,000 square feet. Company officials interviewed at Pack Expo in Chicago did not disclose the amount invested.
The thermoforming division added 35,700 square feet, a four-bay loading dock and a pressure former. Andex now has 18 thermoforming machines.
The improvements include a computer numerically controlled bed mill with tool changer, an 18,500-square-foot expansion for finishing and packing, and prepress software.
Andex employs 135 and converted 7 million pounds of raw material to packaging last year. The firm makes thermoformed plastic and printed card parts for display carded packaging.
