Dow Plastics of Midland, Mich., donated a medical exhibit to the National Plastics Center and Museum in Leominster, Mass. An advanced composite folding wheelchair is one example of medical advances through plastics highlighted in the 20-foot-by-30-foot exhibit, which officially opened with a reception in November. The Dow donation will form the nucleus of a more comprehensive plastics-in-medicine exhibit slated to open next October. Museum director Valerie Wilcox said the museum also hopes to collaborate with Dow and others to develop a mobile exhibit on the same topic.
