Toshiba Machine Co. America resumed importing injection molding machines three years after U.S. Congress banned Toshiba industrial equipment imports. Toshiba was charged with selling militarily sensitive equipment to the Soviet Union.
Vanguard Plastics Inc. expanded plastic bag making capacity to more than 5 billion a year by acquiring Challenge Bag California Inc. By 1995 Vanguard's bag capacity grew to 12 billion annually.
