A European manufacturer of electrical appliances for animal and human body care is launching a new electric fur/hair untangling comb, using acetal parts, for dogs, cats and horses. The Happy Pet comb uses Hoechst AG's Hostaform 902 1 in its guide carriage and a gearwheel in the drive mechanism. The resin was chosen for its toughness, rigidity and resilience, according to Hoechst in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The use of Hostaform allowed Moser Elektrogeräte G mbH, based in Unterkirnach, Germany, to achieve a quiet-running drive. Noise problems experienced during the product's development were resolved by combining Hostaform polyoxymethylene with another plastic. The compact device is 10 inches long, weighs just 9 ounces and is powered via a tabletop adapter that is included. Tel. Hoechst at +49 (69) 3 050, fax +49 (69) 30 20 76 or e-mail [email protected] hoechst.hoechst-ag.d400.de.
