ATLANTA—North American Packaging Corp. has changed its name to Southcorp Packaging USA Inc. to reflect the name of its parent company, Southcorp Packaging of Melbourne, Australia.
The Atlanta-based U.S. unit will continue to use the Nampac and Bennett trade names. Southcorp makes plastic and metal containers and pails, steel drums, beverage and food cans, milk and juice cartons, long-life aseptic cartons, film and laminates, PET plastic bottles and engineered packaging products such as tanks, industrial textiles, sealants and adhesives.
``The rationale behind the adoption of a singular corporate name ... will give Nampac and Bennett the strength of a large, diversified affiliated company, while allowing operating units the flexibility to retain their individual brands and product lines,'' said President and Chief Operating Officer Jim Sherbert.
Southcorp Packaging is the largest business group within Southcorp Holdings Ltd. in Adelaide, Australia.
