QUINTER, KAN. — Formation Plastics of Quinter is adding its third thermoformer and 6,400 square feet in a $150,000 expansion.
``We've been getting business coming in from a lot of different places,'' said owner Galen Huffman.
The 3-foot-by-4-foot rotary thermoformer will be running in about three weeks, and a fourth machine will be installed as room is added. The 6,400-square-foot expansion, to be completed early next year, will give the firm a total of 10,000 square feet, he said.
Huffman added that the company has filled a niche in short runs and fast-turnaround products, as well as in-house tooling. The firm also takes pride in its trimming and finishing quality.
Two employees will be added with the first machine and four with the second.
The company employs seven and reported sales of $320,000 last year. It serves the sign, lawn and garden, recreational, electronics, agricultural, automotive and consumer industries.
