Coast Wire & Plastic Tech. Inc. anticipates March delivery of a new 31/2-inch complete Davis-Standard extrusion line at its new 55,000-square-foot location in Carson, Calif.
Until mid-January, Coast Wire had occupied a 20,000-square-foot Gardena facility for 27 years.
``We have been running seven days, 24 hours for the past 11 months,'' said Terry McInnes, vice president.
In December, Wire & Plastic Machinery delivered a 21/2-inch extrusion line with a 24-1 ratio. Also, Coast Wire has acquired cabling equipment, micrometers for all extruders and more braiding equipment.
McInnes said owner Latshaw Enterprises of Wichita, Kan., gave the firm tools to grow. Latshaw acquired Coast in December 1993 when annual sales were $1.6 million. The 1996 report was $4.4 million, and McInnes forecasts more than $5.5 million this year ``with a $2 million backlog.''
