Colorite Polymers plans on opening its previously announced Northern Ireland plant March 14 or 15 and plans to start shipping PVC compounds April 1, said Margaret Henke, technical services manager.
The firm also will start production on an upgraded line at its Sparks, Nev., plant at the same time, she said.
The 55,000-square-foot plant in a suburb of Belfast is the company's first overseas expansion. Managers and employees have completed training in the United States and the equipment has been installed, she said.
The Nevada plant has been upgraded to manufacture medical-grade PVC compounds, and Colorite has doubled capacity there to 40 million pounds per year. The plant will allow the Ridgefield, N.J., firm to be more competitive, it said.
