DETROIT — Triad Plastics Inc., a Detroit-based thermoformer, has added a computer numerically controlled tooling machine and will add an additional thermoforming machine within the year.
``We had increased business and want to give better customer service and quicker turnaround which we're able to do with this CNC,'' said Vice President David Swallow.
The 29-year-old company invested about $100,000 in the CNC machine and will hire two more employees. The new thermoforming line will be more automated than the firm's existing five lines, Swallow said.
Triad has 35 employees and reported sales of $3.5 million for the fiscal year ended Oct. 31. It serves the medical packaging, signage and displays, electrical, marine, automotive and industrial markets.
