KNOTTINGLEY, ENGLAND—Packaging maker Linpac Plastics Ltd. is increasing its EPS packaging production in South Africa and has opened an expanded polystyrene foam products plant in Chile.
Linpac's Cape Town, South Africa, subsidiary, Atlantic Forming, just started its second extrusion and thermoforming line along with a second PVC stretch film line.
The Knottingley company began operating Linpac Plastics Chile SA in Santiago, Chili, in December.Linpac Plastics, a unit of Linpac Group Ltd. of Louth, England, has been exporting various EPS foam products to South America for several years.
Established markets in Chile, Brazil and Argentina now will be served directly by the Santiago plant, which is equipped with one extrusion and two thermoforming lines. A third thermoforming line is due to be added towards the end of 1997, the company said.
