ANAHEIM, CALIF. — Teknor Apex announced Feb. 11 that it has started another production line dedicated to medical-grade PVC compounds at its Brownsville, Tenn., facility.
The line will make materials with special qualities, such as radiation sterilization stability, migration and lipid resistance, radiopacity, volume resistivity and elasticity. The line will focus on gamma radiation compounds with greater resistance to discoloration, said Peter Galland, industry manager for specialty compounds. The company declined to provide cost details.
