IRVINE, CALIF. — Reiss Corp. is taking bids to add a 600-ton injection press in Englishtown, N.J., and evaluating how much to expand its Blackstone, Va., operations.
Reiss seeks delivery of the machine in the third quarter, to mold primarily business equipment housings for computer parts, Dan Connors, operations manager, plastics group, said by telephone. Reiss added two 1,000-ton Milacron presses in the past year.
In Virginia, Reiss is ``in the sizing stage'' to expand on property adjacent to its 115,000-square-foot facility and would vacate a separate 20,000-square-foot rented warehouse, Connors said.
Reiss employs 220 at the New Jersey site and 240 in Virginia operations and recorded 1996 injection molding sales of $52.3 million out of corporate sales of more than $100 million.
Reiss representatives attended the Structural Plastics `97 in Irvine.
