AKRON, OHIO — Plastics News has hired Frank Esposito to work as a staff reporter in the Akron office. Esposito, who starts April 21, will be reporting on thermoplastic virgin resin prices, materials markets and the activities of materials producers, distributors and compounders.
Plastics News also has hired Christina Stehno as an editorial intern, starting April 21.
Esposito, 25, most recently was a reporter for the Medina County Gazette, a daily newspaper in Medina, Ohio, near Akron. He had been a staff writer there since July 1994. Prior to that, he spent 15 months reporting for the weekly Suburban News Publications in Columbus, Ohio.
He graduated cum laude from Bowling Green State University in May 1992 with a degree in English.
While in Medina, he contributed to Gazette efforts that won first place in the 1995 Cleveland Press Club awards and second place in the breaking news category of the 1995 Associated Press awards.

Stehno earned a bachelor's degree in journalism last year from Eastern Michigan University. She will relocate from Ypsilanti, Mich., to Akron.
She was a reporter on EMU's college paper, the Eastern Echo, in 1995 and served as volunteer co-editor of a magazine for the Michigan Dairy Goat Society.
Stehno will write news stories and be active in writing and research for NPE 1997, the Pipe, Profile & Tubing ranking and ``Market Data Book.''
