TORRANCE, CALIF. — Helisys Inc. of Torrance has agreed to sell equipment from Sanders Prototype Inc., a provider of high-precision, three-dimensional modeling equipment.
Helisys develops and builds automated systems for creating models, patterns, prototypes and production tooling from 3-D computer-generated designs.
Sanders of Wilton, N.H., also supplies thermoplastic materials for modeling.
Its ModelMaker II, with accuracy of one-thousandth of an inch over 3 inches, is used for small-scale modeling.
The agreement permits Helisys to sell Sanders' desktop ModelMaker II rapid prototyping system in early summer under the Helisys name.
