PITTSFIELD, MASS. — The film operations of GE Plastics Structured Products have become a separate profit and loss center, the company announced May 29.
The move comes about 15 months after the Structured Products unit became its own profit and loss center within GE Plastics, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer Gary Rogers.
``In order to effectively manage the vast array of global relationships that is now essential in the film business, we recognized that film required a special management structure,'' said GE Structured Products general manager Lyndon Cole.
GE said it will add field representatives and will put its sales force and marketing development teams closer to its customers. The firm will maintain regional conversion centers. William French was named business leader for film.
